Chelsea midfielder criticized Mason Mount for being cowardly

Mason Mount replaced Garnacho in the 86th minute. That was the first time he played at Stamford Bridge since leaving Chelsea and landing at Man Utd in the summer of 2023. Most home fans booed and chanted that Mount was a traitor.

Mount (number 7) collided with Fernandez.

Down on the field, Mount clashed with Enzo during a throw-in.

After the match, Fernandez responded with a provocative victory celebration.

According to British newspaper Sportmail, Fernandez used the word `cagon` in Spanish, meaning `coward` or `chicken`, when provoking the Man Utd midfielder.

Enzo Fernandez provokes Mason Mount

Fernandez provoked Mount after Chelsea’s 4-3 victory over Man Utd on April 4.

Mount joined the Chelsea youth team in 2005, and was promoted to the first team in 2017. After two seasons playing for Vitesse and Derby County on loan, the English midfielder gradually took an official position at Chelsea, scoring 27 goals in 129 games.

By the summer of 2023, the 25-year-old midfielder decided to leave Stamford Bridge to go to Man Utd for a total transfer fee of 76 million USD.

The great battle on April 4 was exciting with the situation constantly reversing.

Fernandez was excited with the victory, but admitted disappointment that Chelsea is currently only 10th in the Premier League.

Chelsea still has a chance to win the European Cup next season through the FA Cup – where they will meet Man City in the semi-finals on April 20.
